Hello everyone!

I just wanted to check in with you. I swear I haven’t forgotten about my blog- I’m doing stuff with it everyday- I just haven’t posted in what seems like forever because I recently got a job! I’ve been LOVING it so far and its a bit tough to keep up with both when I’m just starting off. It’s at a LOVELY church too and so we’re heading into busy season but I have so many goodies to show you that I will post as soon as I possibly can. I miss you all terribly and I hope you understand! BUT I would LOVE it if you would put your new life updates and any fun comments or info I’ve missed in a comment to this post- I read them but I just don’t have time to always respond. Thanks!!

You See, I See, We See CND

I was really excited to get my hands on some beautiful colors and effects by CND recently. I’ve never previously been able to play with their products so I couldn’t wait- and let me tell you they didn’t disappoint!

I did a quick stucco/abstract design that reminded me a bit of another quick design I did ages ago but hestitated on posting. Regardless, I really enjoyed working with these shades. Let me just say that I used a bunch of effects but you can’t see much of them here because of the angle and as such, I’ll be doing ANOTHER, much more refined design with these polishes in the very near future!

For this design I used OPI Nail Envy as a base, followed by an amazing one coater of CND Miss Wu. I then used a small brush (But NOT my regular one- don’t want to ruin it) to sort of sponge/smudge different shades on. I used (all CND) Midnight Sapphire, Scarlet Letter, Plumville, Dark Amethyst, Raisin in the Sun, Veronica, and Brigette as the colors. I topped random places with Copper Pearl, Sheer 24K Sparkle, Gold Shimmer, and Raspberry Sparkle. I topped everything with a swipe of Seche Vite.

I am absolutely in love. The creme’s are on coaters, the effects absolutely transform all of the shades so you have at least twice as many options, and everything dries really quickly. I can’t wait to do more designs with the effects showcased because they’re gorgeous. The Sheer 24K Sparkle is a gold flakie effect from this Fall/Winter 2011 collection and paired with Midnight Sapphire it’s especially spectacular.

It’s Just A Bunch of Hocus Pocus

Being traditional, I had to partake in the OPI Halloween nail art contest again this year. My last years design (Nightmare Before Christmas) would have worked well since the theme was Halloween Movies. Well here’s the thing, now EVERYONE is doing Nightmare Before Christmas, so I did Hocus Pocus!

Thumb is the book of spells, index is Sarah Jessica Parker Playing Sarah, Middle is Bette Midler playing Winnie, Index is Kathy Najimy playing Mary, the pinky is the black flame candle.

For this design I used (all OPI) Nail Envy as a base coat, Don’t Mess With OPI, Black Onyx, Alpine Snow, Pros & Bronze, DS Coronation, DS Radiance, San Tan-tonio, A-Taupe The Space Needle, Suzi Loves Cowboys, Fiercely Fiona, Congeniality is My Middle Name, Golden Rules, Roadhouse Blues, Take The Stage, A Ruby For Rudolph, I Only Drink Champagne, Blue My Mind!, and a swish of Seche Vite Top Coat.

I didn’t really enter to win, it was just a nice tradition to participate annually :) The ladies that entered really made me up my game- some seriously talented nail artists are coming out of the woodwork! I actually sort of love/hate my design here but I’m too lazy to redo anything on it HAH! Oh well, what’s a girl to do. Cross for beautifully painted finger(nails) for me!
