Yo’ Yo’ Yo’, What’s Good?

Before I get into this post, I just wanted to say a big “Thank You!” to China Glaze for sharing my link with all of its followers today on Twitter. It meant a lot to me that more people are able to share in my love of nail art. I tried to do an “All China Glaze” post, but I just don’t have that many colors! Not for lack of trying, but the pickings are slim for China Glaze in my area and a lot of my polish purchases are spontaneous “I must take you home to my lair and use you” type purchases. Dear China Glaze: feel free to expand into Ithaca, I’d LOVE to see more of you! Thanks. Now onto business. :-)

I have always loved graffiti and I’ve always had a tendency to draw and paint in a graffiti-esque fashion. So I decided to do “For Your Nails Only” in graffiti! Also, I had a wonderful twitterer ask me about my painting and drawing today, and while I couldn’t find ALL of my art, I did have some pictures of my older artwork on my computer, so I’ve added those as well.

What’s Good, Ma?
If you’re wondering why there is a stick figure holding a thunderbolt by my name, its because someone lovely thought that it should be my watermark/symbol/signature on my work since I love meteorology and I’m studying it in college. I tried it here but I think I should redraw it, one hand holding a thunderbolt, one holding a musical instrument, and an painters palette balancing on my head. Then, I’d be covered. :-)For this manicure, I started with one coat of OPI’s Natural Nail Base Coat and two coats of Sally Hansen’s Lavender Cloud. For the index finger: I used China Glaze’s In The Lime Light with Nina’s Ultra Pro in Salsa, Orly’s Enchanted Forest, and Sally Hansen’s Lavender Cloud. For the middle finger: I used China Glaze’s Frostbite and Sally Hansen’s Lavender Cloud. For the ring finger: I used China Glaze’s Turned Up Turquoise and China Glaze’s Frostbite. For the pinky: I used OPI’s The IT Color and Sally Hansen’s Lavender Cloud. I used Sinful Colors Black on Black for the outlines of each letter. For the thumb I used the same black and Nicole By OPI’s Deeply In Love for my name. I finished with two coats of Seche Vite.
My Mini Art Gallery
This was a random abstract I did in high school- medium: acrylic paint.
Rafik’s Mantra was “Show No Love” when he was in the boxing circuit, so when I first started dating him, I did a picture of it! medium: acrylic paint.
My good friend Amber and I would have destressing sessions freshman year of college where we’d get together and paint for each other. This if you look carefully says “Amber

My dad’s wife is one of my best friends and as such, I made her this collage of words that explained who she is when I was in high school. Laura, miss you!!! medium- PrismaColors Colored Pencil.
I have MANY more pieces hiding somewhere but I don’t have pictures of them. I usually do it for me or to share my love with other people, but I did have a pastel work on gallery display across the country once that I completed in high school. A teacher entered me in a contest without my knowing and I’d show you a picture, but it’s framed in my dad’s house and obviously, I’m not there right now!! :-)
Don’t forget to enter my giveaway!! Color Club was amazing to sponsor me and I can’t wait to see who wins!
