Autumnal Ornamentation

Quick design again today- Rafik timed it and it was less than 20 minutes! I just sat down with the intention of doing a super fast yet fun abstract design, and then I thought, aaaHA! Ribbon! You know the stuff, not the super wrappable silky ribbon, nooo, the stuff with wire in either side that you can fold into bows. But, since I did it with fall colors, I felt it worked out well! My apologies for the shiny cuticles, I tried to wipe most off but I’m still healing up from the gel-tastrophe so I dabbed on some YUMMY coconut scented Cuticle Oil by Color Club, which made the design look a bit messy. Whoops.

It’s A Tie
For this manicure, I started off with one coat (two tried too slowly and one worked just fine) of Color Club’s Smooth Operator Ridge Filling Base Coat. I then used two coats of OPI’s Chop-Sticking To My Story for the base and OPI’s Magala Wine for the details. The ring finger is just the same design as the ribbons but blown up full nail scale. I topped with two coats of Color Club’s 0-60 Speedy Top Coat and dabbed on Color Club’s Cuticle Oil.
Don’t forget to enter my nail art contest :-)

  1. Tara..here is a question…what sort of art tool do you use to do most of your art work on your nails? I have tons of nail art brushes but still learning how to use alot of them the best LOL
Your details on your nails are always sooo good.

  2. Kriss, I use a thin watercolor paint brush :-) I have some nail art brushes which I use occasionally but I prefer the cheap clearance brushes because they have tons of the same brushes for when they wear out and they are dirt cheap so you can buy many of them. I use a 10/0 in terms of brush size.

  3. A water color paint brush..okay I am no artist lol so what is that? LOL do you have a pic maybe of what it looks like too?

  4. I don't have pictures personally but a watercolor paint brush is just a brush that you can pick up from a craft store that is used for, well, watercolor paints. Just ask someone working in your local craftstore where the 10/0 watercolor brushes are and they should help you… they're listed as oil paint brushes as well… its the one that says "extra long liner from 10/0 to 20"

  5. and a dusty is a store where you can buy polishes that are actually "dusty" on top because they don't move very many polishes. Usually, some very hard to find shades are regular price at Dusties where online, people charge you an arm and a leg. And yes, Brucci is the brand :-)
