Pass Me The Honey, Honey

Being that I’ve been under the weather, tea has been one of my staples lately. And in all of my tea, I put honey, of course. It reminds me of a terrible, yet funny joke that my dad told me once…  but I won’t go there.

You’re So Sweet

For this manicure, I started off with one coat of Color Club’s Vitabase Nail Strengthening Base Coat and one coat of Color Club’s Smooth Operator Ridge Filler. I then used a mix of Color Club’s Best Dressed List, Claire’s Neon Orange, and OPI’s The IT Color for the base color (two coats). I mixed OPI’s The IT Color and China Glaze Snow for the honeycomb pattern. Then I used Sinful Colors Black on Black for the bees and their dotted line paths and a bit of OPI’s The IT Color for their stripes. I used one coat of Color Club’s 0-60 Speedy Top Coat and a few drops of Color Club’s Dry Ice Drying Drops to finish.

Color Club’s Dry Ice Drying Drops are great. I’m not a patient individual, so even a quick dry top coat doesn’t do it for me sometimes. Granted, Speedy is great too, but I wanted to see how fast the polish would dry with both the quick dry and the drops. It dried so quickly that I didn’t even think to time it. I loved them! I’ve used a few other brands of drops in the past, but personally, I’m really diggin’ Color Club lately. The only downside is that, like all drying drops, they are a tad oily until they evaporate, so don’t use too much or else it’ll take a minute for them to evaporate out of your cuticles. I found one to two drops per nail more than enough. I especially wanted to try these out today since well, all I’m allowed to do (other than take my exam today) is lay in bed, and I didn’t want to ruin my nail art by curling up under the covers. Needless to say, crisis averted!

The Vitabase strengthener is also really helping my nails grow out strong from my gel-tastrophe. I’ve been using it at night if I take off my polish before bed from the day before because they feel too weak bare. Also, I’ve been using them a few times a week under my polish and ridge filler, but I forgot to list it once or twice (sorry!!). My nails are growing really quickly- the damage is already a third grown out! Hopefully by Thanksgiving it will be completely gone!

You can pick up Color Club’s fab treatments at brick and mortar stores like Duane Reade, Harmon’s, and Bed Bath and Beyond’s that have an extended cosmetic section. You can also pick them up at etailers like 8ty8beauty.com, transdesign.com and victoriasnailsupply.com

Remember, NAIL. ART. CONTEST.ENTER. VOTE. WIN. :-)
