“Sweet” Proposition

I was recently contacted by April of Toffee Creations with a request to paint her toffee on my nails. I couldn’t say no; I love toffee! So today’s design is inspired by her Raspberry Love toffee (mmmm my favorite fruit is raspberry!)

As a quick summary about April and her toffee, they make tons, I mean TONS of flavors of toffee and they never include chocolate because they don’t want to hide the flavors of the toffee behind it! They do parties, events, celebrity gifting, and more! You can buy three different sizes of every size of every flavor of toffee- their biggest portion is $30/pound. You should definitely check out her website!

I’m A Sucker For Sweet Things

For this manicure, I started out with one coat of OPI’s Natural Nail Base Coat and two coats of China Glaze’s Platinum Silver as a base, except on the thumb on which I used two coats of Sally Hansen’s Lavender Cloud. I used Sally Hansen’s Lavender Cloud for the swirls on the Toffee Creations Bag, OPI’s Espresso My Style, OPI’s Golden Rules, and Nubar’s Unfaithful for the closeup of the toffee on the thumb, those same colors plus Claire’s Neon Pink and Sally Hansen’s Lavender Cloud for the toffee pieces on the other fingers. I finished with two coats of Seche Vite.

This is supposed to be an image of Raspberry Love in Toffee Creations’ beautiful packaging, with a closeup with a bite taken out of it on the thumb.

Funky French Friday – Tetris!

I was reminded by a wonderful reader that, in my lack of posting yesterday, my internal clock got off schedule and I forgot it was Friday. Not just Friday, but FUNKY FRENCH FRIDAY!! I know, it was a catastrophic oversight and as such, I’ve decided to make up for it with a new french idea.

Let’s Play!

For this manicure, I used one coat of OPI’s Natural Nail Base Coat to start. I used Sinful Colors Black on Black for the lines, OPI’s The It Color for yellow, Sally Hansen’s Rapid Red for Red, Orly’s Enchanted Forest for the green, Claire’s Homeoming Queen for purple, Orly’s La Playa for the blue, and topped off with two coats Seche Vite (which schmeared the ring finger falling piece, grr…)

I hope this makes up for my lack of date-keeping! Don’t forget to check out the Twitter nail art I posted before I realized it was Friday!

GO PLAY!

Follow the White Rabbit

If “Real” is what you can feel, smell, taste, and see, then “real” is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. – The Matrix

Well, this is as real as it gets. We’re all a part of it, so I might as well show you what it is….

Welcome, To The Matrix

For this manicure, I used one coat of OPI’s Natural Nail Base Coat, one coat of Wet N Wild’s Black Creme, a mix of Claire’s Neon Green and OPI’s The It Color for the green, and took that mix and mixed with Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud for the highlighted end matrix symbols. I topped off with two coats of Seche Vite. As is usual with me, this is all freehand. I love how people Konad, but I prefer free-handing my designs, though one day maybe I’ll stamp.

I had to do a dark polish today because last night, I was trying to sit from a lounging position and my (rock hard) thumb nail decided to bend backward halfway down the nail bed. The nail didn’t break, crease, or weaken, but my nail bed is bruised to all hell and hurts tons, so I didn’t want ruin a lighter manicure with  a bruise. Go figure, the nail would rather separate from my finger than break. Lets just say that a string of @#$%^&* was said and after some ice and some TLC, I’m back in action. Cool though, didn’t lose the growth and could still do an awesome design for you.

So, do you want to know what it is? You’re in it- it’s all around you- its my nail art!
