He Sure Plays A Mean Pinball

The other day one of my favorite “The Who” songs, Pinball Wizard came on the radio when I didn’t have my ipod on me. Then, last night, I stumbled upon an AMAZING free game app called Retro Pinball, so I decided that today we’d have a pinball design!!!

For this design, I started with a coat of OPI Nail Envy, two coats of Nicole By OPIBaby Blue, Nicole By OPI Turquoise Texture (I was trying to replicate the cracking in the image below), OPI Alpine Snow, Nicole By OPI Red-y To Runaway Love?, Nicole By OPI Razzle Dazzler, Nicole By OPI You Can!, Nicole By OPI I’m A Belieber, Nicole By OPI One Time Lime, Nicole By OPI Daffy Dill, Nicole By OPI One Voice, Nicole By OPI Give Me The 1st Dance, Nicole By OPI Party In The Penthouse, Nicole By OPI Fresh Squeezed, and a top coat of OPI Rapid Dry.

Here’s the pinball image that I used as inspiration- so much detail it was hard to choose what to include!! Click on the image care of Windows Secrets for the path to the original image.
BY THE WAY!!! Have you entered my NAIL ART CONTEST! To win all of Nicole By OPI’s Something About Spring Collection? You have until the end of June (aka any designs before the clock strikes midnight onto July 1st EDT will be accepted). Please read the original post for details! I have received SO many designs- it will be hard to choose who wins!!!

AND! Rafik did another design for all of you as well! If you haven’t been following long, Rafik is my fiance and occasionally he tries his hand at nail art. The conversation usually goes like this, (Rafik) “Nail art is easy, I could do that design better” (Me) “Oh? Have a go then” (5 minutes and some paint later) (Rafik) “Okay I’m done! Look at my masterpiece! I don’t have the patience for this!”
Needless to say, his designs warm my heart and I love to show you all that he does nail art on me sometimes :)

The colors? OPI Alpine Snow, Nicole By OPI One Time Lime, Nicole By OPI My Lifesaver, and Nicole By OPI Baby Blue. I think he did a great job!

The polishes in this post were sent to me by the manufacturer. For further information, please read my disclosure tab.

Everyday, Zen’s The Way

A close family member of mine gave me this amazing book a few weeks ago called Everyday Zen by Charlotte Joko Beck. Its been amazingly helpful because it has insights you can use every single day. Due to end of college/beginning of life stress, you better believe that its been great to have on hand. So, today’s design is inspired by the cover- a sand and rock garden….

I used Color Club Sweet seduction as a base with OPI San-Tantonio mixed with OPI Alpine snow sponged on to make the sandy texture (which you can’t see in a picture-only in real life, go figure). Then I used Clarins 103 (Pink Shimmer) over everything to make it look like 3d grains of sand….  I THEN used OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys for the lines in the sand and a mix of OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, China Glaze Cracked Concrete, OPI Black Shatter, and OPI Alpine Snow for the rocks. Topped off with one coat of Seche Vite and in person, its a wicked 3d sand garden and in pictures, it looks… sort of like one. :-)

Some of the products in this post were sent to me for consideration and review. For further information, please read my disclosure statement.
