Jelly Fish Jam

I am going to fess up to something. I love spongebob. I know, I know- I’m a grown adult, but still, Spongebob is awesome and the jokes go right over some kids’ heads! My baby sister loves Spongebob too- especially the Jelly Fish Jam (have to say it’s my favorite, myself). So, when Rafik and I went on an adventure to the Georgia Aquarium this weekend, I was beside myself to see the gorgeous jellyfish on an amazingly stunning cobalt blue background. Needless to say, Rafik took a million pictures and now you have a jellyfish design to look at! By the way, congratulations on getting to my new website domain!

For this design I started with OPI Nail Envy, then two coats of Revlon Fast Dry in Royal (its my favorite blue- and it DOES NOT STAIN!!!!) and a mix of Wet N Wild Sunny Side Up, Milani Neon Awesome Orange, and OPI Big Hair… Big Nails for the oranges. I also layered some OPI Cabana Banana underneath the body for some pow. Some OPI Alpine Snow to outline and finally I topped off with a coat of Seche Vite and voila! Jellyfish!!!

Winter Flurries

I picked up a polish well before Christmas from the new Revlon Top Speed line called Royal. Its the most pigmented vibrant Royal Blue you could imagine and if you apply it very thinly, it tends to dry matte but after two coats (you only need one for full coverage) it has a super shiny, bubble/streak free finish. It might just look like another blue in pictures, but in real life, wow it glows! I wanted to showcase its beauty so I did a simpler design today….

Snow Flurries

And I’ve also gotten a LOT of requests about whether or not I paint both hands. I assure you, unless something seriously wrong (really bad migraine or family emergency etc) I paint both hands. Even if I don’t do a design on both on those rare occasions, I still paint matching base colors. I’ll try to put more pictures of both hands into the blog, but that only usually will happen if Rafik is around to help take pictures :-)

For this design, I started with one coat of OPI’s Natural Nail Base Coat, two coats of Revlon Top Speed Royal, and I used OPI DS Radiance for the silver dots and OPI DS Glow for the accented gold dots on the ring fingers. I topped off with one coat of Seche Vite.

Oh! And the name of this post? Its snowing (of course) and this design reminds me of snow flurries for some reason… so yeah. :-)

Road Trip!

Rafik and I are headed on a road trip tomorrow morning to visit some family, so I decided I’d do a design today for you that I’ll wear until I get back. Don’t worry, the OPI Art Series isn’t done- it’ll be back when we get back!

I happen to have an unnatural love of peacocks and I was inspired to do today’s design by a waterbottle that my family got me for Christmas. I won’t bother putting up a picture of the bottle because I did a different peacock design, but it was my muse, so to speak.


Flourishes of Feathers

I used OPI Natural Nail Base Coat, OPI Alpine Snow, Zoya Ivanka, Nicole By OPI My Lifesaver, China Glaze Jingle Bells, Revlon Top Speed Royal, and Nubar Peacock Feathers (of course). Topped with two coats of Seche Vite top coat.
