It’s Just A Bunch of Hocus Pocus

Being traditional, I had to partake in the OPI Halloween nail art contest again this year. My last years design (Nightmare Before Christmas) would have worked well since the theme was Halloween Movies. Well here’s the thing, now EVERYONE is doing Nightmare Before Christmas, so I did Hocus Pocus!

Thumb is the book of spells, index is Sarah Jessica Parker Playing Sarah, Middle is Bette Midler playing Winnie, Index is Kathy Najimy playing Mary, the pinky is the black flame candle.

For this design I used (all OPI) Nail Envy as a base coat, Don’t Mess With OPI, Black Onyx, Alpine Snow, Pros & Bronze, DS Coronation, DS Radiance, San Tan-tonio, A-Taupe The Space Needle, Suzi Loves Cowboys, Fiercely Fiona, Congeniality is My Middle Name, Golden Rules, Roadhouse Blues, Take The Stage, A Ruby For Rudolph, I Only Drink Champagne, Blue My Mind!, and a swish of Seche Vite Top Coat.

I didn’t really enter to win, it was just a nice tradition to participate annually :) The ladies that entered really made me up my game- some seriously talented nail artists are coming out of the woodwork! I actually sort of love/hate my design here but I’m too lazy to redo anything on it HAH! Oh well, what’s a girl to do. Cross for beautifully painted finger(nails) for me!

The polishes in this post were sent to me for consideration and review by the manufacturer. For further information, please see my disclosure statement.

The Painted Nail

Most of you already know about the show “The Nail Files” on TV Network. If you don’t, you should! Its a funny, easy-going, and sassy reality TV show about The Painted Nail- yes- A NAIL SALON REALITY TV SHOW! Woot!

The Painted Nail teamed up with Nubar to create some new polishes and I am lucky enough to show you a few of them! You know I’m terribly impatient with full hand swatches, so I fit three polishes on one hand on a makeshift skittle swatching… thing. :)

The index finger and the middle finger are Love My Louby’s. The ring finger and pinky are Legendary Lavender. The thumb is Silver Screened.

I LOVED The formula on these- it was like applying butter- I really do appreciate a good brush too- gotta love Nubar for the brush and the handle. The colors were the bomb over all- I rarely like purple but I’m loving this one and I am a red-aholic so Love My Louby’s stole my heart before it was even out of the bottle. The surprise for me was Silver Screened. It looks pink in the bottle but its sheer and glittery on the nail. The only downside for me was that these are all three coats. Since Love My Louby’s is a jelly, that’s totally understandable, and the other two are glitter suspended in jelly- so again, totally okay with it. I’m freaking out though because I can’t wait to see the other colors in the line! They dried quickly (as Nubar does) and to be honest, I can’t really complain since I used three coats! They are fab! Well done Katie!

The Nail Files airs on the TV Guide Network on Tuesdays at 10pm ET and PT

It’s Time To Pass The Torch

I’ve sincerely enjoyed the honor of being Nicole By OPI’s Blogger Spotlight of the month and I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone involved. I felt such a warm welcome into the Spotlight because last month’s Blogger Spotlight was so kind to me and a few other people were wonderful as well- you know who you are! Cathy and I live in the same city and it’ll be nice to be able to hang out with such a cool person as her. As a result, I’d like to say thanks to her with a nail design dedicated to her blog, Poor Little It Girl. Cathy’s banner and title are a bunch of super cute sunglasses, so today I decided to do the design that Nicole By OPI used for the month of May for Cathy’s blog! I’d also like to welcome¬†in the NEW Blogger Spotlight for July- I look forward to chatting with you when you have the chance!

For this design I used OPI‘s Nail Envy as a base, two coats of (all Nicole By OPI) Pink Seriously, Razzle Dazzler, OMB!, Make Mine Lime, “Baby” Blue, I’m A Belieber, Not A Gold Bigger, You Can!, Prized Possession Purple, Scandal…Secrets & Sparkle, OPI Alpine Snow, and OPI’s Rapid Dry Top Coat.
