Follow the White Rabbit

If “Real” is what you can feel, smell, taste, and see, then “real” is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. – The Matrix

Well, this is as real as it gets. We’re all a part of it, so I might as well show you what it is….

Welcome, To The Matrix

For this manicure, I used one coat of OPI’s Natural Nail Base Coat, one coat of Wet N Wild’s Black Creme, a mix of Claire’s Neon Green and OPI’s The It Color for the green, and took that mix and mixed with Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud for the highlighted end matrix symbols. I topped off with two coats of Seche Vite. As is usual with me, this is all freehand. I love how people Konad, but I prefer free-handing my designs, though one day maybe I’ll stamp.

I had to do a dark polish today because last night, I was trying to sit from a lounging position and my (rock hard) thumb nail decided to bend backward halfway down the nail bed. The nail didn’t break, crease, or weaken, but my nail bed is bruised to all hell and hurts tons, so I didn’t want ruin a lighter manicure with  a bruise. Go figure, the nail would rather separate from my finger than break. Lets just say that a string of @#$%^&* was said and after some ice and some TLC, I’m back in action. Cool though, didn’t lose the growth and could still do an awesome design for you.

So, do you want to know what it is? You’re in it- it’s all around you- its my nail art!

What Are You Searching For?

I was playing with the neat Google search screen for a while today and I couldn’t for the life of me come up with a design. I decided to open up my browser, click on a random bookmark with my eyes closed, and that is what I would do for my nails. Go figure, I missed the bookmark bar and it stayed on the search window. That’s when it hit me, sometimes, what you’re searching for is right in front of you!

Your Friendly Google Search Engine

For this manicure, I used one coat of OPI’s Natural Nail Base Coat and two coats of Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud as a base (sorry for any bubbles, I dropped the polish right before painting). I then used Orly La Playa for blue, Essie A-List for red, OPI’s The It Color for Yellow, Icing’s Envy for green, and Wet N Wild Black Creme for the “TM” finally topping off with two coats Seche Vite.

This is a fun one! Hopefully, you found what you were looking for by checking out my nail art- your daily dose of creativity!!!

We Are Just Specks

In the vastness of the great expanding universe… I think the real quote is actually “Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark.”- Carl Sagan.

Being a Cornellian, I have an obligation to know about Carl Sagan, since he was such a large part of Cornell. I’ve passed his house countless times (and wanted to explore it as it’s still used as the secret society Sphinxhead’s meeting ground). Because Carl Sagan was so big into extraterrestrial life, I did constellation nails of the….

Great Big Universe
For this manicure, I used OPI’s Natural Nail Base Coat, one coat of Wet N Wild’s Black Creme, Sally Hansen’s Lavender Cloud for the stars, and two coats of Seche Vite Top Coat.
I had an amazing haul today where at my local dusty I found China Glaze Fortune Teller for $2.99 whohoo! I also picked up the infamous WnW Black Creme and I am so glad I did- it’s a great black creme. One coat provided full coverage, it went on like the silky formulas of more expensive polishes (WnW retails for between $0.99 and $1.99) and it dried rock solid. I love it! But- it chips crazy fast- so- good for people who change their polish daily but terrible for extended wear.
If you were wondering, the constellations are Ursa Major (AKA the Big Dipper) on the thumb,  Cassiopeia on the index finger, Bootes on the middle finger, Aries on the ring finger, and Grus on the pinkie. These are all constellations you can see if you are in the Northern Hemisphere in the months of September-October. And no, I didn’t make a boo boo on the big dippers second star and make it too big- its a double star so its supposed to look that way! :-)

I really would have loved to do the actual constellations in a glow in the dark polish on top of the white, so that they showed up as constellations in the dark but I didn’t have any (think of The Daily Nail’s Firefly post)
Then, I remembered when I used to work at Eckerd (bought out by Rite Aid) we would get in those glow in the dark polishes. After Kimberly’s comment, I went out and picked some up and it looks AWESOME but I can’t for the life of me get my camera to capture it. If you have any suggestions, I’m all ears because I’d LOVE to show you all how it looks.
